Here are the details of the build direct from Level 7 Motorsports:
May we introduce to you, “Back in Black”, a 1992 Z28 25th anniversary Camaro. We are excited to be a part of this project. This has been a restoration of the body and chassis with a slew of modifications along the way. Our customer bought this car locally and had started working on it himself. After a good amount of maintenance work he noticed some rust in the floor pans and inner rocker panels. He decided to bring the car by and let us inspect the car to determine what needed to be done to make the car safe. Together we decided that there was just too much rust littered throughout the car for it to stay together.
Details:
The decision was made to pull the car apart, have it blasted, and replaced all of the infected portions of metal. With any Camaro holding the title of Z28 and being an anniversary edition car, there lies a certain responsibility. With that, we decided to take the opportunity to upgrade and bring the entire car into current performance and safety standards. We used a Chevrolet Performance crate 495hp LS3 engine mated to a Bowler Performance T56 Magnum 6 speed transmission. The factory 10 bolt rear end was replaced with a Moser Engineering 12 bolt axle. We also had them install new style 9? bearing ends as well as a Eaton Truetrac, 3.90:1 gears, and powder coating. Holley Performance supplied all of their third gen parts to get the engine and transmission into the car. We used their Hooker engine and transmission mounts as well as their Blackheart stainless headers and exhaust. A Holley Dominator EFI controls the engine and supplies the Dakota Digital VHX series gauges with information via CAN BUS signal. Ridetech suspension also came on board and build a prototype coilover suspension system for along with new tubular control arms, sway bars front and rear, an fully adjustable torque arm, and billet adjustable front strut mounts. Wildwood brakes stop the car via 14? 6 piston kit up front and a 12.88? 4 piston rear kit. To complete the look we went with a set of 18? Forgeline GA1R wheels in a 9? and 9.5? width. Keeping the car up to date with more modern parts was very important to us. Restomod Air supplied all of the a/c parts to bring that portion of the build up to par. The evaporator / heater box is now located under the dash and helped to clean up the engine bay. We also used Restomod’s bulkhead to help route the hoses into the engine bay. All of the restoration parts including carpet, seals, dash, glass, hardware, etc was all supplied by Hawk’s third gen parts.

Many more upgrades were performed after the build such as 10.5" wide wheels, LED headlights and running lights. Custom subwoofer enclosure.
